APPENDIX D – Waszps

D1. ELIGIBILITY There is no age restriction for skippers in this regatta. Parental consent forms will be required for competitors under age 19 as of December 31, 2023.

D2. FEES The entry fee for Waszps is $630, priced affordably at less than $160/day. An additional late fee of $50 will be charged for entries made after 2300 hours on Wednesday, December 20th. The fee of $630 includes a one-day Clinic and a three-day Regatta with the coaching and on-water support provided during the 4 days. This event fee also provides: 2 Foiling coaches Vakaros Unit Coach boats Markset bots Daily Brief & Debrief Regatta shirt and 2 Dinners Awards Access to Regatta park including regatta security

D3. High-Performance Racing Clinic Participants will have the unique opportunity to engage in a high-caliber 1-day racing clinic led by internationally acclaimed Waszp coaches. This clinic is designed to enhance racing skills and optimize performance on the water. Coaches Introducing Marco Francalancia from Lake Garda, Italy, a prominent High-Performance Waszp coach. Marco also serves as the President of the Italian Waszp Class and directs the X-Lab project, dedicated to nurturing young foiling athletes. His involvement in this event demonstrates our commitment to improving the foiling experience and fostering excellence in competitive sailing. Agustin Ferrario, WeCANFoil Director & SailGP Inspire Lead Coach: A decade-long representative of Canada at international events, is a driving force in Canada's foiling development in Waszp, Nacra17, 69F and more. He founded the CANFOIL Academy and plays a pivotal role in the Canada SailGP Team WeCANFOil program, expanding foiling across the nation. Additionally, as a lead coach with the SailGP Inspire program around the world for two years, he is committed to talent development. Agustin's experience and leadership are shaping the future of foiling in Canada and beyond.

D4. RACING All Waszps shall compete together as a single fleet on a separate circle and will race December 28th - December 30th.
